I believe everyone should acclimatize when starting to take organic sulfur. If you have many food allergies, it is very important to start out with low amount and gradually increase to the recommended amount.
Don’t make the mistake I made. When I first started taking organic sulfur, I jumped right into taking the recommended dose without acclimatization, and it was definitely not a smart move.
Here Is The Acclimatization Process:
Take ½ teaspoon of organic sulfur once a day in the early morning for 4 days, then
Increase to ½ teaspoon twice a day (early AM and about 9 hours later) for 4 days, then
Increase to 1 teaspoon twice a day (same times) for 4 days; then
If there are no flu-like symptoms at any level then you can increase the amount more rapidly. If you experience mild upset more than 2 days at any level, just go back to the previous level for an extra week. Give your body time to adjust.
The general guide after acclimatization is to take 1 teaspoon per 100 lbs twice daily (early AM and about 9 hours later), preferably between meals or on an empty stomach, so nothing interferes with its full utilization in the body.
As you begin taking organic sulfur, if you experience flu-like symptoms, dizziness, or the onset of diarrhea, don’t worry, these are actually normal and natural detoxification process. These symptoms will get better over time. In most cases, organic sulfur crystals have absolutely no side effects if consumed within the recommended amount.
During pregnancy, many women suffer with some of the ailments that organic sulfur may be able to help with, such as poor circulation, acne, and constipation. There are some studies that suggest that organic sulfur is safe for pregnant women.
However, since it has not been tested and approved by the FDA, you should take specific care when using it. As with any other medication or dietary supplement, you should check with your health care provider before taking organic sulfur during pregnancy.
Organic Sulfur is considered non-toxic and you can’t take too much of it. The most common complaints associated with taking too much organic sulfur are diarrhea, light sleep agitation, and headaches. If you took too much, you body will simply excrete the excess sulfur out of your body through the gastrointestinal system.
When you are ill or recovering from an illness, before a heavy workout, or feeling tired during the day, take an extra 1 or 2 teaspoon of organic sulfur on top of the recommended amount to help with the recovery process.
Organic Sulfur is also safe for people taking medications. It should be noted, however, that organic sulfur can thin the blood so if you are on blood thinners check with your doctor before using. In fact, always discuss with a medical professional before starting any supplement regimen.
There Are Two Ways Of Taking Organic Sulfur
You can put organic sulfur directly into your mouth and quickly swallow it with a few sips of water and follow with 8-10 oz of water.
You can also mix organic sulfur crystals in a small glass of warm or room temperature water and stir the mixture until they are fully dissolved.
The taste of the mixture is pretty bitter and some people may find it hard to swallow. There are few things you can mix it with without the risk of rendering it ineffective.
Personally, the bitter taste doesn’t bother me. But if you find the bitterness offensive, you can mix sulfur with fresh lemon or lime juice, tea, or coffee to mask the flavor.
If your organic sulfur dissolves very easily in room temperature water then it is likely that the sulfur is not pure. At this point you might want to consider a different product.Organic sulfur should have large crystals of flake appearance, as shown in the image to the right.
In order for it to be biologically safe and effective, organic sulfur must be pure and free of all additives.
Substances such as flow agent, coatings, binding agents and silica added to sulfur will reduce its effectiveness. In some cases, it can even be dangerous.
Maintaining proper hydration is important when taking organic sulfur since it helps to detoxify the body and water is needed to help flush these cellular wastes out of the body.
I use the rule of 1 liter of filtered or purified water per 50 lbs of body weight per day. For example, a person weights 150 lbs should drink about 3 liters of water per day.
It needs to be noted that soda, coffee, tea, juice, beer, or wine do not qualify as water.
Things To Avoid
Avoid drinking chlorinated or fluoridated water with organic sulfur, they will interfere with sulfur’s effectiveness. Make sure you drink only filtered or purified water.
Avoid taking any medications, supplements, vitamins and foods with organic sulfur. I recommend taking organic sulfur first, and wait 30 minutes before taking anything else. The fillers or anti-caking agents that are commonly used to manufacture pills and powders will deactivate sulfur.
Avoid taking organic sulfur 5 hours before bedtime, if you do, you might have a hard time falling asleep.
Avoid taking shower within 5 hours of taking organic sulfur, chlorine and fluoride in shower water will make sulfur less effective.
Organic Sulfur & Vitamin CSulfur works synergistically with vitamin C to build healthy cells.
Organic sulfur helps to open up your cells and make them more permeable, allowing harmful substances to flow out while permitting nutrients to flow in, and vitamin C works by repairing the tissues throughout the body.
Vitamin C also acts as an antioxidant, protecting your body’s cells from damage from environmental toxins and free radicals.
Most vitamin C is in the forms of a capsule or pill. The additives, bonding agents, or anti-caking agents that are commonly used to manufacture capsules or pills will negatively affect sulfur.
To ensure that any additives included in supplements and medications don’t interfere with sulfur, I recommend that you take organic sulfur first, then wait 30 minutes before taking vitamin c.
If you don’t want to take organic sulfur with vitamin c in the forms of pills or capsules, you can also mix organic sulfur with freshly squeezed orange, lime, or lemon juice and dilute it with some water to get all the benefits.
Lemon and lime juice are the most acidic fruit juices of all, with a pH of 2 to 2.6, which can quickly erode your tooth enamel. Enamel is hard to grow back and once it’s severely damaged, it can even be irreparable.
Make sure you drink lemon water carefully so that it does not touch your teeth or drink with a straw so that it bypasses your teeth. And don’t brush your teeth immediately after drinking lemon water. This will wear away the enamel even more as the citric acid is still fresh on your teeth. Before you do brush, rinse your mouth with water.
