In Blog, Product Reviewsby Hong18 Comments

I've had floaters almost my whole life. I was told by my doctor that floaters are common and usually harmless. They rarely get bad enough to require treatment. Even though it was really annoying and since it didn't interfere with my vision, I just left it alone.

I started using MSM eye drops to help with my dry eyes after I discovered the side effects of using over-the-counter eye drops for the long term.

I am glad I did! In fact, I've been using MSM eye drops for about 7 months as of this writing. My dry eye has improved significantly. One other unexpected benefit I received was that my floaters are a lot less now.

I became curious and wanted to see if others have benefited from MSM eye drops. I found many have also experienced fewer floaters and other benefits as well. Some were able to get rid of their floaters. That is some amazing results!

If you have eye floaters and are looking for a natural solution without the nasty side effects. You've come to the right place! In this article, I am going to share with you the top 3 best MSM eye drops for floaters.

Without further ado, let's dive right in.

What is MSM Eye Drops?

MSM is also known as Methylsulfonylmethane or sulfur. It's an organic sulfur compound that's found naturally in the food you consume, such as broccoli, cabbage, milk, nut, and meat. It's also the third most abundant mineral in the human body and it's needed for the proper functioning of the body.

MSM has many benefits. It has the ability to make your hair shinier, nails stronger, and it's also great for joint pain and inflammation. You can check out my 28 impressive benefits of organic sulfur article to learn more.

When MSM is used as an eye drop, it has the ability to soften the eye tissue, making the membrane more elastic. So the eyes are able to absorb the nutrients and other healing agents more effectively. It also helps to moisturize the cornea and reduce inflammation in your eyes.

Besides being a great solution for eye floaters, MSM drops are great in helping with the absorption of other eye products you may be using. Although it's commonly used in the treatment of floaters, it also helps with cataract, glaucoma, and dry eyes, just to name a few.

Dr. Eric Berg has a very detailed and informative video below explaining how MSM eye drops can be used to treat floaters and other eye problems

gold standard liquid MSM eye drops bottles

This is another great liquid MSM eye drop for those that have eye floaters. I've used their organic sulfur product since 2016 and have been a happy customer since. I like their customer service, very friendly and helpful.

That's a great value for your money. This product also contains high quality ingredients, made with distilled water, 99.9% MSM, and vitamin C.

Are MSM eye drops safe?

Are MSM eye drops safe? I am glad you asked. Yes, MSM eye drops are safe and non-toxic. There is no evidence of adverse effect. It's actually no more toxic than water. It's also recommended by several well-known alternative doctors as well.

As long as you are not allergic to sulfur, such as foods found in eggs, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, or garlic, then the drops are safe to use in your eyes.

When you first start using MSM eye drops, you may feel a stinging sensation in the eyes, but it will go away in a few minutes.

After you use it for a while, you won't notice the stinging sensation anymore. In fact, after about 7 months of using the MSM eye drops myself, I no longer feel the stinging sensation.

I also noticed a dramatic improvement in my dry eyes and my eye floaters. Although I still have floaters,  I definitely noticed a lot fewer floaters now. I believe if I continue to use this product, the floaters will be gone eventually.

Don't confuse sulfa with sulfur!

Many people think sulfa and sulfur are the same thing, but they have different chemical structures. Although they both contain sulfur, that is where the similarity ends.

The allergic reactions people get from sulfa is due to the actions of the sulfonamide molecule, not the actual sulfur. If you are allergic to sulfa, it's still safe to use MSM eye drops. There are people who are allergic to sulfa and use MSM with good results and no complications.

Anyways, regardless of the chemical structures and other people’s experience. If you have an allergy to sulfonamides, it’s wise to consult your physician before using MSM.

You can also check out this article for a detailed explanation of sulfa and sulfur difference.

Final Thoughts

MSM is a great natural solution for floaters and other common eye problems. Although MSM eye drop is not a guaranteed that you will improve your floaters and other eye problems, neither does the over-the-counter eye drops.

MSM eye drop is inexpensive, safe to use, and often does help. And the best part is, they do not come with the unpleasant side effects and the rebound effect like many of the over-the-counter eye drops. I highly encourage you to give MSM eye drops a try. I've had a positive result with it. So do many others.

Keep in mind that MSM eye drop is not a miracle product. But with a regular and long-term use, you will see an improvement in your eyes.

I hope you got value out of this article and if you did, please share this article with others.

  1. Hi , I bought dexterity health MMS eye drops , I use them for 2 months, but now i am afraid to use them after reading this:

Made my dog go blind within 24 hours
After the first night these eye drops gave my dog glaucoma . Had to be rushed to the vet. We have now spent hundreds/thousands on prescription eye drops and vet bills since putting these in her eyes one time. She is scheduled to have her eye removed on 10/2, and hopefully we can save the other. But she did go totally blind within 24 hours of putting this in her eye. It was instant the trouble started. I got this to help with her cataract, and now she is blind. I would do anything to go back in time and not use this. I was told my a doctor MSM is sulphur and it really stings the eyes too.

I dont know if i should keep using them

    1. Author

      Hello Pablo,

I am very sorry to hear what the dog went through. It’s very to hard to say if eye drop is the direct cause of the dog going blind. This could also be a coincidence. The dog owner could also accidentally contaminated the eye drops with something that made it harmful to use for the dog. There are many explanations.

I do feel sorry for what happened to the dog. Since I don’t know the whole story, it’s hard for me to completely dismiss the benefits of MSM or not recommend to others.

I can vouch that MSM eye drops are amazing because I’ve personally used it and have gotten good results with it.

Below you will find an article and a video that explain to you how MSM works to improve your eye problems.

  2. Hi Hong,

Thanks for sharing and this is very helpful information! I started to notice floaters about two weeks ago, and they are very annoying. I want to give MSM eye drops a try. However, one concern is that I had LASIK eye surgery about half year ago. Do you think it is safe to apply this MSM eye drops into my eyes?

Also, I feel a little confused about the product. So the product can also be taken by mouth? There are many MSM crystal products that can be internally taken, which is good for overall health. Will this also help on treating eye floaters?

    Thanks,
    Jack

    1. Author

Hello Jack, you are very welcome. I’m glad you found the information helpful. I know several people used the MSM eye drops after Lasik surgery to help with their dry eyes and floaters. And they have gotten great results after a consistent use of the MSM eye drops. However, since everyone is different and will react to MSM eye drops differently, so results will vary. As long as you are not allergic to sulfur, such as foods found in eggs, broccoli, cauliflower, onion, or garlic, then these drops should be safe to use in your eyes. However, if you’re still concerned, you may want to speak to your eye doctor.

I’ve personally used it for almost a year now. I’ve noticed a dramatic improvement in my dry eyes and my eye floaters. Even though I still have floaters, I see a lot fewer floaters now.

MSM eye drops are safe to use. In fact, they’re actually no more toxic than water. It’s also recommended by several well-known alternative doctors as well. You can read more about it here.

Dr. Eric Berg has a very detailed and informative video below explaining how MSM eye drops can be used to treat floaters and other eye problems. I highly recommend you check out this video.

MSM is available in several forms such as capsule/tablets, liquid, powder, or crystal. These forms can all be taken internally to improve one’s overall health. However, applying the liquid MSM directly to the eyes is far more beneficial and effective than taking it internally. You can use the commercial MSM eye drops or you can also make your own by using pure organic sulfur crystals. Check out this article for more information.

When you instill MSM eye drops into the eyes, first of all, it’s going to soften all the tissue. Second of all, it’s going to reduce inflammation. And third of all, it’s going to begin to remove toxicities from any part of the eye.

You want to be aware of any pharmaceutical drugs you’re taking, because many of them can trigger things like floaters. You also want to work on reducing your visual stress. I hope I answered your question. let me know if you have any other question.

      All the best,
      Hong

  3. Hi Hong,
Very informative. I am looking an alternative to my son eye problems as well and never tried MSM eye drops. This is a good suggestion, but do you think it can be use for kids without any side effects?

    1. Author

Hi Azaliha, I’m glad you found the article informative. MSM eye drops are safe for both adults and children. They are not only safe and effective, they also do not come with the nasty side effects and the rebound effect like many over-the-counter eye drops.

I hope I answered your question. Feel free to to contact me if you have any other question.

      All the best,
      Hong

      Kind Regards,

  5. It’s the first time I hear about floaters and I think I could have them. I already tried some other products and they didn’t work, so I will probably try the ones you’ve recommended, because sometimes it’s really annoying and it’s starting to bother me at my work. I work in a theatre and I’m constantly looking at lights, so these floaters are even more visible and disruptive.

I have used other eye drops with no success and had gotten many nasty side effects. I’m glad to have come across MSM eye drops. After months of consistent use, now I experience fewer eye floaters. I am confident with a continued and long-term use of the MSM eye drops, my floaters will eventually be gone. I encourage you give this product a try.
